I am retiling a bath floor on plywwod. I want to lay down tar paper, a heating element then use Level Quick for level. Then tile. Is that doable?

Is that doable? Absolutely not. What's the tar paper for? How will everything above it be held down? Just gravity?

We do not install tile direct over plywood, especially in rooms that can get damp. If the subfloor is stiff enough for tile you can install the warming element, then install Ditra over it. OR, install a cement backer on the plywood then the floor warmer, and then the tiles. What to the directions say? Some want A self leveling compound, other may recommend thin set or other patching materials.

I thought the tarpaper would help with the waterproofing but not sure so that's the point of the question. What is Ditra? I'm trying not to build up the floor too high where it meets the wood flooring in the bedroom. I also have a preety unlevel floor so that's the point of the Level Quick. Hoped that the level quick over the element would make it not need a ton of thinset. Can you tell I'm pretty new at this? Thanks
