What do you pros thinks of the SimpleMat? I haven't used it yet and I haven't really recommended it to my customers either.

Jen, this stuff follows the exact flow of the wall. If there is a slight bow in the wall from an outlet box, warped stud, nails stop plate, etc, the stuff will flow with the wall. Since the tile won't, there's no way to adjust for these inconsistencies in the wall plane which will leave you with uneven tiles. That is above and beyond the way tiles move around on it. Maybe if it's a backsplash with smaller tiles set square, no patterns. Pattern work or a diagonal set would accentuate the variance in the wall surface. It's non load bearing so imagine what would happen if someone stood on a counter top tiled with it to change a light bulb. I've got some things you can print out if you want.
