I want to adhere a set of four 4" x 4" stone tiles (stoneimpressions) to a cement as past of vertical face of fireplace. What tile adhesive should use? Does it adhere immediately since it is a vertical surface? Any tips

I'd use thinset. It won't adhere immediately, masking tape will hold them until it sets.
