Heat mats

I plan on installing heat mats on top of backer board, and then porcelein tile on top of that. The mats don't go wall to wall, so how do you suggest I make up the 1/8" height of the mats to achieve a level surface wall to wall? |

Use a 3/8" trowel, shouldn't be an issue, backbutter the tile as well.  |

Bury the mats in SLC. |
