Hi,
I plan to instal a vanity, fram a wall for the shower stall, and put ceramic tiles on the floor in the bathroom. Could anybody please tell me if I have to instal ceramic floor first, then the framing on the floor? Or the framing has to be done before instal ceramic tile floor? Many thanks!

OK, I'll bite.

Have you seen a floor installed before the walls were erected when a home was in construction?

Maybe you could use some help with this project? We can help, do you have any other specific questions?

All tile is the last thing you do. You wouldn't want to try to build/frame a stud wall over ceramic tile.

This "shower stall" you talk of?
Tell us what you think you want to do with that. Are you planning to all of this yourself or are you going to hire it done by a contractor?grin

Thanks All!
I will try to do it by myself. This is my first DIY project.

Please do lots of research on how to build a shower. Doing the drain/membrane and how the membrane is installed in relations to the walls-curb etc. Is critical and something even so-called pros often don't do correctly.

Starting with a shower as a first timer is gutsy for most people. Not saying you can't do it but realistically it sounds like building walls and such is not your forte.

Let us know if you need some help. Also describe if this will be an all tile shower and what your plans are for wall substrate and adhesives etc.

Look into premade shower bases. You can get an acrylic base and tile just the walls or you can use something like a "Tile-Redi" base that you can add tile to as well as the walls.grin

With either of these, wall-stud placement is critical.grin
