Have a condo in Fla. On 2nd fl. Do I need to install rolled corkboard under 18" sq. Tile on cement floor? Is it code?

There are codes that allow cork sound suppressors and there are cork underlayments designed for use under tile. The first thing you need to do is check with your condo authority and see what covenants you have agreed to and what their rules are. Condos are funny animals sometimes.

The next issue the cement floor. Most condos have used a lightweight concrete typically known as Gypcrete and that stuff can be an issue. Nothing wants to stick to it for very long. There are sealers and membranes that are recommended for such applications. Nobel Company's membrane are specified in some cases.
