Ceramic over plastic

In both my bathroom and kitchen, there are plastic tiles on the walls. In the bath on all walls except the shower area, and in the kitchen on all walls to include the backsplash over the counter. I can only assume that it would be a large job to remove the tiles, then the substrate. Can I install ceramic tiles over the plastic tiles? The tiles are solid, with no cracks. If so, what type of adhesive would I use? Please advise. Thank you.

No take it out. Quit being cheap and take iit off if it is plastic then it should come off pretty easy,

Those plastic tiles aren't suitable to apply new tiles over. The old adhesive is very brittle by now and not reliable. I realize you think the old is solid but I doubt it really is for this purpose.
