No, and neither should you, buy a quality sealer such as Aquamix, on the same shelf, get the applicator bottle, a little further on down the isle, hanging with all the gizzmos, the one with the roller or brush tip, fill it with the Aquamix sealer and use that. |

I admit I was a sucker and used it when I tiled both of my bathrooms. I was actually please with it, it goes on easy, it does have a strong but not unpleasant ordor, and it left no visible residue on the tiles after it dried. No cleanup needed. It seems to be holding up well so far, just over 1 year. |

It seems to be like the sealer is working, water on the grout beads up rather than being absorbed into the grout. |

To all who have responded to this thread, your suggestions and comments have been great, but at this time I am getting ready to seal 40 square feet of 1" HEX TILE and I am afraid of having to spend the rest of MY life on my hands and knees with a small brush. I did use a light grout and it is in a bathroom so I do understand that it will need to be sealed well. And of course I love what Rick says because it sounds like the easiest way. At the same time this HEX TILE was not easy to install either (MY FIRST TILE JOB) and I would hate for the grout to get stained. Rick, Was your grout a light colored grout also? And does sanded are unsanded make a difference when it comes to keeping it clean? Has anyone had bad experiences with the spray on sealer? |

Fisher, Listen to me! Go buy yourself some AquaMix Sealer's Choice Gold 15. Put it in a clean "garden sprayer". Spray the sealer everywhere on the floor. Take a clean dry terrycloth towel and begin to slowly wipe the entire floor. Once you have wiped the entire floor then rinse the towel with warm water and wring it out as dry as you can get it. Now, go back over the floor again with this damp towel. When finished, go away and forget about it. You have just spent twelve minutes of your life sealing your grout and at the same time cleaning your tile and you shouldn't have to do this again for the next fifteen years. OH, and you have also ruined one nice terrycloth towel. That's all there is to it my friend. |

THATS IT? Wow Bud, I had no idea it was that easy. And here I was thinking of hiring a tweakier on speed that could sit there for two days with a paint brush going around each individual HEX TILE. I wonder what my first tile floor would have looked like if I had not found this tile forum? THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP. |

Fifteen minutes tops my friend and that would include cleaning out the sprayer when you are done. |

Raid your linen closet! All those towels in there are terrycloth. Don't tell your wife though cause she's gonna kill ya if she finds out. |

Bud, I just went and bought the AquaMix Sealer's Choice Gold 15 and raided the linen closet. I will try to send a photo of the tile job completed after I mount the toilet, sink, baseboards, ETC.
Thanks again for all the help here.

No more worry as it has been recalled and all cans have been removed from Home Depot stores.
We used it outside on a porch floor and there was adequate venelation. My wife did complain of her arms being itchy. |

I saw on another forum where a woman had just started a law suit against the spray manufacturer claiming her husband contracted some form of lung cancer attributable to inhalation during application about 2 years ago. Dont know how far they will get, if its just a fishing expedition, but be forewarned. |

We recently remodeled our bathroom and just yesterday my wife used Tile Perfect Stand and Spray Grout Sealer that I purchased at home depot. Our bathroom is only 40sqft so application took 5 minutes, but no more than half an hour later she complained that she was short of breath and her chest was tight. After a night spent at the emergency room she is still at the hospital today and may be looking at another day or so. The only precaution on the can was "avoid breathing vapors" and all was done to ventilate the area but in a small bathroom its difficult to avoid. As of right now she's diagnosed with pneumonitis- just a lung inflamation however this can cause other infections and possibly pulminary edema. I've read other similar complaints of this product and am just trying to make others aware of the dangers of this product. It may appear to be a perfect solution to your sealing problems but the possible effects on your health need to be carefully considered. Good luck |

Here is the email address for the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) this would be a good place for everyone to begin complaining about this product. http://www.cdc.gov/netinfo.htmIf everyone reading this were to send an email to the CDC something may get done. |
