I just had hardwoods installed and the workers did not check to see if the sink could be moved up enough to fit my pedestal under it. Therefore I would like to cut the pedestal. How can I cut the pedestal 1 inch?

You can't cut the pedestal. You can remove the sink. If you look under the sink, where it touches the wall, you'll see a metal bracket. That's what is holding the sink on the wall. There is also a chance that 2 bolts or wood screws, one on either side, are also holding the sink to the wall. They will be securd to 2x4's behind the sheetrock. Remove those 2 bolts, shut off the hot and cold water, unscrew the supply lines at the shutoffs, disconnect the drain at the p-trap, cut any caulk at the top of the sink with a razor knife, then lift up the sink. Once you have all that out of the way you just have to remove the bracket that was holding the sink onto the wall and move it higher. Probably just need the thickness of the wood to make up the difference.
