I am remodeling a bathroom -lay tile on walls (size 10x10") total space 72sf, as well as the floor with a 12"x12" total are of 62sf. The estimate I got is for $2100.00. Is that a reasonble coast?
Thank you

Eli,

Would need to know if he is supplying and installing backerboards in all areas to be tiled. What type of backerboards? What type of floor tile (ceramic or stone)? What type of grout? Where are you?

Answer those questions and we'll put a cursory price together but remember: Internet pricing is useless and estimates need to come from your local prospects.grin

Bud -
What type and/or brand of Backerboard and Greenboard do you recommend?
I hope to shop for some next week and would appreciate any inside knowledge as to if there is a noticeable difference in the quality for the price.
Thanks

I don't know anything about greenboard quality. I assume it is all basically the same thing if it comes from a mainstream manufacturer.

The more cost effective and easier to work with backerboard is probably Denshield because it is also basically waterproof. The juncturers and the fastener penetrations need to be waterproofed after installed.

My all time favorite to date is WEDI but those guys have priced themselves out of my market. KERDI has a waterproof board coming soon, don't know if it is on the market in some areas or not.grin
