Schluter-KERDI-SEAL Now Included with KERDI-DRAIN!

As of July 1st,KERDI-SEAL-PS and -MV prefabricated seals will be included with all KERDI-DRAIN kits (which also contain the KERDI-KERECK prefabricated waterproofing corners) and all KERDI-SHOWER-KITS.

These prefabricated seals are sections of the KERDI waterproofing membrane with over-molded rubber gaskets.

KERDI-SEAL-MV has an opening diameter of 4-1/2" (114 mm) and is used to protect moisture-sensitive backing panels at the mixing valve.

KERDI-SEAL-PS is available with an opening diameter of 1/2" (12. 5 mm) or 3/4" (20 mm) and is used to seal pipe protrusions through the KERDI membrane.

Unique features and benefits:

- Eliminate the need for sealant for clean and simple application
- Membrane used for KERDI-SEALS is half the thickness of KERDI to limit buildup behind the tile

The KERDI-SEALS complement the Schluter-Shower System by providing reliable solutions to address typical protrusions such as showerheads, tub spouts, steam inlets, and mixing valves in shower and bathtub enclosures.

Additionally, right now Schluter's working on a Kerdi drain that will work with any 3 piece clamping drain system. From what I hear, it should be out pretty soon.

I would be happy if they stopped using ABS for their drain - every time I have had to install one of these it is ABS - not a truly great sealing material for a drain.

They come in both ABS and PVC, what's wrong with that? Different areas use and prefer different materials. Boy Mike D, based on this and your other comments in another thread you don't seem to be very up on procedures of any kind. I hope you aren't hawking yourself as a professional installer with your little bit of knowledge.grin
