I am going to lay tile in the bathroom that has lino in it now, I was told to pull up the lino, scrape any of the loose backing paper off and tile over it. The sub floor under paper is 1/4 osb.

Remove any 1/4" underlayment as well, then report back with what type of subfloor is under that, how man layers of what and how thick.grin

I removed the lino and the 1/4 inch particle board under the lino, now I have 5/8 inch tongue and groove on the bottom. I was going to put 3/8 exterior plywood on the 5/8 and start tiling, hope I got that right.
