I live in the Bahamas. Today I received my shipment of tiles I ordered for our covered north facing porch. My husband pointed out the fact that I bought indoor application tiles only! oops. They were in the indoor/outdoor tile section of home depot and guy said they would work, but I didnt see the indoor only thing on box.
SO, Can I use these on my covered porch?

Hi Girl,

The indoor/outdoor classification has mostly to do with the ability of the tile's bisque to absorb moisture and then break when used in freezing temps. I kinda doubt that'l happen in the Bahamas, even with the global cooling that has been going on for the past 8-10 years.

Another point is not using a super smooth surface than might be slippery when wet. Not knowing which tiles you bought that is the best answer I can give. Be aware that those stores specialize is selling real cheap quality tiles from China, Thailand, Brazil etc., and they may not wear as good as some others.

Be sure the prep and installation is done by someone that knows how, avaid "handymen" types. Or-----, may I come and install them? grin

I wish you could come do it. Thank you for easing my mind about my purchase. I will make sure the ice cubes from the c**ktails dont freeze the tiles!

Jaz, I think I could work as your helper on this one. Do you think setting 10 sf per day would be considered fast enough progress? grin

Welll, 10 ft. Per day? That might be stretching it a little, but since there would be two of us, plus a local helper, 10 per day might be doable.

"Per day"?

Why would you guys want to work days in a place like that? Sounds like night work to me and I specialize in night work. In fact, some of my best performances have been during the night. grin
