Angle Grinder Hole Cuts

Ceramic Tile Video

This video will teach you how to dry cut tile using an angle grinder equipped with a 4" diamond saw tile blade.

In this example, we are using the angle grinder to make "hole cuts" in wall tile for installation around the faucet handles in a tub tile surround. These holes will later be covered by the escutcheons when the faucet hardware is installed.

Proper safety equipment should be worn at any time this tool is in use. This includes proper safety glasses, gloves, and a NIOSH approved dust mask.

Caution: Dry cutting tile or cement backerboard with this tool will generate clouds of dust containing crystalline silica, a material that is harmful to your health if inhaled. Always use this tool outdoors in a well ventilated area and always wear a NIOSH approved respirator, type N-95 or higher.
